Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This page lists the ones Plainwire uses and how to control them.

Readers

Reading Plainwire sets no cookie of ours. We use no analytics or social media cookies. A few conveniences are saved in your browser’s local storage, never sent to us: the topics you choose to follow, the items of The Brief you mark as read, and your light or dark theme choice. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

Editors

Members of our desk who sign in to our editing tools get one strictly necessary session cookie (pwadm), deleted when they sign out or close the browser.

Advertising

Plainwire does not show ads yet, so no advertising cookie is set. When ads are switched on, Google AdSense may set cookies to show and measure ads; visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent first, and this page will be updated.

How to control cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking our cookies does not stop you from reading Plainwire. See also our privacy policy.
